The Edmonds Arts Festival is held in Edmonds, Washington during Father's Day weekend annually in June. The Festival first opened in 1957, and is one of the oldest and largest art festivals in Washington. The Festival celebrates and promotes the artwork of various local and national artists, showing an average of about 200 artists per year.

Run by volunteers alone, the Festival has an array of sponsorship to support its mission. All proceeds from the Festival are used to support scholarships, schools, and community grants to promote the arts and expand cultural experiences.

Held at the Frances Anderson Cultural Center in Edmonds, the outside lawn area of the center is arranged with a variety of booths where works of fine art and artisan crafts are displayed for sale directly from the artists. Inside the center is the juried art gallery where 450 of the best local and national artists have had pieces juried in to the event.

The festival is consistently ranked in the top 100 art festival in the United States, and in the top three in the Pacific Northwest region. A wide variety of two- and three-dimensional art is represented including oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, drawings, mixed media, photography, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, and glass works.

The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to education and the cultural enrichment of our community through the arts. The Foundation gifts more than $80,000 annually in the form of scholarships and grants; over the past 39 years, grants have provided more than $1,000,000 to fund public art installations and large special projects. The Edmonds Arts Festival, held annually in June for more than 60 years, has grown to be one of the most prestigious arts events in the country. Produced entirely by community volunteers, the Festival is the primary fundraiser that allows the Foundation to realize its mission.

Palo Alto Festival of the Arts

  • Hester van Diggelen Jewelry (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This high-quality festival, hosted by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, attracts 250 fine art & contemporary craft displays, Italian Street Painting Expo, Kids' Art Studio, specialty areas, stage & street entertainment, gourmet food, fine wines & micro-brews.

This high quality, community-friendly event is hosted by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce with the support of the City of Palo Alto. This event attracts people every year from throughout California and the West Coast. The festival—celebrating its 40th year—takes place on tree-lined University Avenue in beautiful downtown Palo Alto, a vital economic area 35 miles south of San Francisco.

The backbone of the festival and the key to its success are the 250 fine artists and crafters whose display booths are placed back-to-back along University Avenue. These exhibitors are the reason why this festival attracts such a high percentage of fine artists and crafters whose work you'll see only at a few select shows on the West Coast.

While strolling through the festival, don't forget to stop by and listen to sidewalk piano virtuosos located at Bryant St. Look for the PLAY ME sign. More Info

The Italian Street Painting Expo—always a crowd-pleaser—will again showcase chalk artists from throughout the state, creating larger-than-life works of art. Tasso Street is where it's happening so don't miss it. This year's co-beneficiaries of the Italian Street Painting Expo fund-raisers are the Palo Alto Youth Community Service and Ada's Cafe.

Local participation is high at this event. The Palo Alto Art Center and Oshman Family JCC are the organizers and beneficiaries of the kids' "hands on" art & crafts area. Look for the Kids' Art Studio located at the end of Tasso. Also, throughout the festival, the Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto will again be serving alcoholic beverages for everyone's enjoyment.

PLEASE NOTE: The City of Palo Alto has a ban on the use of plastic & paper bags for carrying purchased merchandise. The Chamber of Commerce highly recommends that festival attendees bring their own tote bags for easy transportation of multiple purchases.

For those driving to the festival, free parking is within a block or two of the festival site, with parking for disabled patrons in all city lots. Festival attendees though are encouraged to use public transit or ride a bike. For transit information go to 511.org.

If you are a dog owner thinking about bringing "Cuddles" to the festival, please reconsider. Large crowds can easily make a typically mellow dog very anxious & sometimes aggressive.

Check out the 2023 promotional clip for a quick overview of the festival.

MEDIA: 2023 details and images can be found on our Press Releases and Media Images pages.

The Circle of Art is BASIC's oldest major fundraising event. It began in 1989 and the first two Circle of Art events were held in conjunction with the Borrego Springs Grapefruit Festival.  In 1992 the first "Print of the Year" was produced and in 1993 The Circle of Art became a singular stand alone event drawing upon the beauty of the Anza Borrego Desert in the Spring. Every year in March, Borrego Springs is host to the Circle of Art at Christmas Circle Park in the heart of the village.   This fine arts show is FREE to the public and features approximately seventy artists.  All proceeds from the Circle of Art go towards BASIC's educational projects and scholarships for the residents of the Borrego Springs Community. For more information about BASIC's programs, click here.

Organizers select about 70 artists for the show each year, exhibiting quality paintings and art works representing a variety of media including oil and watercolors, photography, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, weaving and jewelry.

In past years, artists have been selected for the featured art on a print commemorating the show. Click
here to go to the artists print, poster and bio pages. Prints from current & previous years are available for purchase, although some are no longer available. They may be purchased from locations in Borrego Springs, CA.

Many of the artists return to the show each year to display other examples of their work at this outdoor fine art show.
